Revision of Requirements for web revisions from Tue, 05/22/2007 - 13:53

This document describes the users, content, main uses and general functionality needed for the insect portals to become

  • a web-based source of authoritative taxonomic information and related data
  • a tool to facilitate collaboration among taxonomic experts and a mechanism for efficient dissemination of their research

These requirements will help our IT partners (WP5) to set up the correct structures to support the functionalities we would like to see and are therefore very important. At this point we have to specify the content, uses, access, basic functionalities and details of taxon pages. And we need to decide which elements of the portal need to be flexible (because they differ between taxonomic groups) and which are general. The requirements cited below are based on the requirements of the CATE project and the Palmweb.
